Remembering Wes

How can you write a poem about Wes and say,

All the wonderful things he was each and every day?

There are so many things that come to mind,

As teardrops fall - we remember he was kind.

He was a man we loved & respected too,

With his own special laugh - he could light up a room.

He was a man who knew how to make you smile,

He could sing a great song & play it with style.

He brought to the stage much charisma and class,

His many voice imitations could not be surpassed.

He was a leader and could take up the slack,

Or he could be a team player knowing when to gracefully step back.

Wherever he was, there were smiles and great fun,

He was so loved and important to his band "HIT-N-RUN".

He gave more than 100% wherever he went,

And whatever he said is just what he meant.

He was eager and willing to do whatever he could,

To make people feel special because he was good.

His love for Diana and his well loved kids,

Is evidenced by all that he said and he did.

They were his world and he was theirs,

He gave them his all because he really cared.

He gave us all strength, wisdom and love,

And his music was truly a gift from above.

Wherever he was, wherever he may now be,

Nothing meant more than music, his friends and his family.

He didn't have to say to each one "I Love You",

You could witness his thoughts in all he'd say and do.

So much could be said about how he handled life,

And the endearing way he looked at Diana, his wife.

He had such a great attitude and was fun to be with too,

And he could sing and play like no one else you knew.

To his friends, his band family, we found him perfect in every way,

And without him we're lost, and we miss him each passing day

He gave us so much and asked nothing in return,

And we'll miss him so deeply, for him we mourn.

His light will always burn brightly in our lives, our memories and our hearts. We loved him before and we love him still. In his short time here on earth, he was what most people would call a successful man. We'll always be grateful for him & the things he did for us in good & bad times; He was a rare person and a blessing to everyone who knew him and loved him or were fortunate enough to cross his path. I know God is so happy to have him back home playing in the greatest rock and roll band of all.

The Fab 5 would not be where they are today without Wes Jones and we miss him tremendously
